Job Description

Title of position: Principal Digital Communication Officer
Organisational Level: Supervisor
Reports to: Manager, Marketing Communication

Objectives/core purpose of the job:
The Digital Communication Officer works on developing digital strategies, integrating digital assets, raising brand awareness, collaborating on marketing campaigns, leading digital activation projects, and measuring the efficiency and effectiveness of digital channels/campaigns, while supervising content creation in line with developed strategies.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Digital Strategy Development
• Develops/creates integrated and cost-effective digital communication/marketing strategies for the company and its clients.
• Researchs the latest digital tools and interactive trends, and provides strategic analysis of trends in digital communications/marketing and recommendations for resulting opportunities.
• Drives value for the company and its clients through digital communication.
• Works with Business Development to map out how digital assets will be optimized to support in attaining business goals.

Digital Campaigns
• Develops and implements creative and engaging digital campaigns aligned with the company's and its clients' digital strategies.
• Closely follows trends related to consumer behaviour and how consumers access information to help develop digital campaigns.

Content Creation
• Oversees content creation aligned with digital strategies for the company and its clients.
• Reviews and edits copies and creatives for the various digital channels.
• Repurposes content for the various digital channels and audiences.
Community Management
• Engages with various audiences across digital channels.
• Responds to comments and customer queries in a timely manner.
• Develops standards for engaging with customers on digital channels.

Monitoring, Measuring and Reporting
• Develops monthly reports on digital activities and performance for the company and its clients.
• Monitors, evaluates and implements improvements in digital communication/marketing strategies.
• Monitors, analyzes performance and report on digital campaigns, focusing on ROI.
• Evaluates and implements improvements in digital campaigns.
• Monitors, tracks and reports on feedback and online reviews

Account Management and Client Relations
• Manages all digital client accounts and oversees the delivery of all tasks within the scope of work.
• Builds and fosters a good working relationship with all digital clients.
• Regular reports and gives timely feedback to clients.

General
• Maintains a neat working environment.
• Attends training and other organizational meetings as and when required by the organization.
• Adheres to all relevant compaany standards, policies and procedures and task instruction manuals.
• Adheres to budgeted project timing.
• Maintains documents and records as required by the company.
• Ensures all members of Digital Communications Team adheres to client confidentiality.
• Ensures that all members of the team follow procedures for handling company money and that all money is accounted for.
• Ensures quality of all work and deliverables.
• Keeps up to date with industry and research knowledge and contributes to a database of relevant articles of the company.
• Performs any other tasks as that may be assigned from time to time.

Job Holder Entry Requirements

Education & Related Experience:
• A good first degree in Digital Marketing, Marketing, Communication or a related field.
• Professional qualifications or certifications in Digital Marketing or Marketing.
• 4 to 5 years of experience in a Digital Marketing/Communication or digital strategy role.
• Proficiency in using social media management tools, digital campaign management tools, web analytics tools or other Digital Marketing tools, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Skills - Special Training or Competence:
• Ability to turn strategies into a meaningful digital experience for target audiences.
• Wide knowledge of digital and other content delivery platforms.
• Out-of-the-box thinking, creative yet methodical approach to reaching specific target audiences using different digital mediums.
