Job Description
Reporting to (position) Solid line: Mill Supervisor
Reporting to (position) Dotted line: Production Process Engineer
Responsibilities
• Shall be liable and responsible for strict adherence to all EHSQ policies and procedures which is a shared responsibility for all employees.
• Responsible for carrying out mill inspections.
• Responsible for preparation of cement mills for ball charge. He shall supervise all ball charging activities planned by the Process Engineer.
• Responsible for the running and monitoring of compressors, cooling towers and sump water pumps and levels.
• Responsible for the filling and monitoring of grinding aid levels in the tank for effective mill operations.
• Shall assist the Mill Supervisor in control room operations.
• Carriers out minor maintenance and servicing of compressors and cooling towers.
• Should report defects promptly to the responsible officers and make follow-ups to ensure their timely restoration. Defects must be reported on the WhatsApp platforms and the Autonomous Maintenance booklets.
• Should assist during Planned maintenance and shutdowns in cleaning the mill diaphragm slots, inspecting the bag filter ducting, separator, and separator circuit.
• Should maintain a high standard of cleanliness at the milling plant and have direct responsibility over the Mill cleaning contractors and ensure optimum utilization of hired manpower.
• Should ensure continuous filling of the mill hoppers to avoid material shortage that may warrant the stopping of the mill.
• Follow up with conveyor attendants and payloaders for effective blending of additives.
• Should perform any other duties that may be delegated from time to time by Process Engineer and HoP.
Requirements
Requirements - the essential knowledge, skills and behaviours required.
1. Qualification:
HND Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar industry.
2. Hard Skills:
• Communicate and report effectively in both verbal and written.
3. Soft Skills:
• Ability to work in a team.
• Should be able to work under pressure.
• Must have good communication skills.
